Biography
I developed a taste for painting, and after my bachelor’s degree in topography (land surveying), I earned a master’s degree in figure drawing in Sint-Lucas [Saint Luke’s Institute]. In 2004, I showed my work to family and friends for the first time on the occasion of my wedding reception. Shortly thereafter, I went through a dark period as I lost both my parents. My art took a less present form and acquired a dark and integer character. The birth of my daughter in 2008 renewed a yearning for colour and romanticism. I wanted to express the beautiful facets of life in my drawings. This urge kept increasing, and in October 2015, I decided to devote myself to painting.
My current work focuses mainly on living models in acrylic paint. The beauty and elegance of the old portrait masters fascinate me to no end and have encouraged me to take private lessons in the studio of master Igor Calsyn, where I am discovering the various aspects of using colour.
In addition, I recently started undergoing training in graphic design to expand my horizons and to master new techniques.
My drawings and paintings come in all sizes. I do not stick to one specific form or size. I feel a great urge towards freedom and development.
Furthermore, I will soon be able to show more realisation on my website, now that I’ve set up my own studio (at home), in an attempt to interweave art even more closely in my life. Painting brings harmony and peace in my life. And you, as an art lover, can enjoy the works from the comfort of your own home.
